BUYING / SELLING / MOVING ITEMS
During the course of your game, you will be buying, selling and moving items a lot, so, here's how to do it.
Let's have buying a toilet as our first example. See the icon of a chair and a lamp right there? Click it to access the Home Store where you can buy items for your sim's house.
Choose the furniture tab on the upper left side and then click on bathroom tab to see the items for your sim's bathroom. At this level (level 1), you only have one for each bathroom items. As you level up, more items will be unlocked and available in the home store. For now, let's choose the Stains Bros. Toilet by clicking on it.
To move the toilet, tap on the Home Store, just like when you are buying items.
To position the toilet to your desired location, just tap on the object, click and hold the circle with four arrows, and drag to where you want the toilet to be. Notice the toilet is highlighted in green? It means the toilet can be placed in that location. Otherwise, the highlight would appear as red. Now, see the small arrow on one side of the toilet's highlight? That arrow indicates where the item would be facing. It is important that there are no obstructions in front of that arrow, as your sim will not be able to use that item. So, leave at least one square meter in front of it empty. If you are already satisfied with the toilet's location, click the green circle with a white check mark to confirm it.
In case I haven't mentioned it, there are quests within the game and each time you complete a task, you get a reward in random amounts of simoleons, or lifestyle points (LPs) or experience points (XPs). For this tutorial, we have completed the task of buying a toilet, and we get 50 simoleons and 50 XP points as a reward.
With the toilet now in place, let's have your sim use it. I guess, the instruction below is easy to follow.
See that white bubble with an exclamation point in it? Click it.
Notice that by clicking on the toilet, you'll see how long the action of using it would take (in this case, 7 seconds), and how much experience points (XPs) you will gain completing it. Note that every item differs from each other in terms of the amount of time it would take to use it, as well as the number of experience points you'll get from using it. The higher the star rating of the item, the faster the action of completing it is. The star rating of each item can be seen at the right side of the item's picture in the home store. If you want your sim to finish actions faster, it is recommended that you buy 3-star items.
Let's say you don't want an object in your sim's house anymore, or you want it replaced with a higher-star-rated object, you have two options: you can either sell it, or move it to your inventory. To sell it, just click on the red circle with a white "x" mark. Please note that the price value of the item decreases (I think by about 10%) when you sell it.
To place it in your inventory, just tap on the gray circle with what looks like a white bag with buckles.
