Those figures found at the top of your game screen is the Player Information Panel which shows you your progress in the game.
LVL (Level) and XP (Experience Points) - These show you your current level in the game and clicking on this will show you how far you are from the next level and how many more experience points you need in order to level up.
VIP (not shown in the picture) - This shows your VIP level from earning VIP points when you buy items from the game's online store. Your VIP level increases each time you buy from the online store which likewise increases your VIP perks.
§ (Simoleons) - Simoleons are the main currency in every Sims game and here you will see how much Simoleons you currently have. You can buy more Simoleons by clicking on the green Simoleon symbol.
LP (Lifestyle Points) - Aside from Simoleons, Lifesyle Points are another form of currency which lets you buy premium items or use them to speed up actions. You can buy more LP by clicking on this symbol.
SP (Social Points) - A special currency, Social Points are earned by completing social tasks at your neighbor's houses or as a reward during live and community events.
The last symbol is the Town Value and Sim Count which shows you your town's current value and the number of sims in your town. Your town's value increases whenever you build houses, workplace, businesses, or items. Your simoleon rewards also increases whenever your town value does.
